GREAT AND RELAXING STAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

We are just coming back from a totally relaxing week stay at Xamach. My son (6) built a huge sand castle and managed to dig a 2 feet deep hole so that he totally disapeared. My daughter (8) loved the stay so much that she cried on the way back and asked us if we could go back again next year. They spent a lot of time at the beach. Water is fabulous and shallow so that we did not have to worry. The cabana was also very clean and confortable. The site as a whole is fantastic. We needed the rest and finally we got it! The food is extremely good. Great Mexican food. They tone it down so that we could appreciate all of its flavors. They also had all kinds of special attentions for the kids. William especially loved the mexican hot chocolate while Cathy could not stop from eating the different salsas and guacamole. I have to mention that the road leading to Xamach is probably the worst in the world and I think that is what makes it so secluded and relaxing. You can actually see beautifull fishes 30 feet from the beach in about 4 feet of water. At night you can see a lot of stars and we even saw shooting stars( I explained to my son that the shooting stars eventually all fall onto the boca paila road.) We are planning on going back. One last word on the king of Xamach: Meow Moew. She gets fish and fantastic food every day and actually does very little over the course of a day. We did exactly the same.

 THREE YEARS RUNNING!

Once again, we chose Xamach Dos as our "decompression zone" Although we have travelled to the Tulum area 5 years in a row, never have we stayed in one place THREE times!!!! We love the atmosphere, the remote location, and of course the staff!!!! The food here is an experience all on it's own. Francesa and Anna have something magical happening in that kitchen! Although there are 4 different cabanas to choose from, we keep coming back to our favourite each year. We enjoy walking out of our door, into the sand that stretches all the way to the Caribbean. In a full 14 days of staying here over 3 years, I have yet to put even sandals on for the entire time. The remoteness means you aren't inundated with "outsiders" all day, yet you are still close enough to Tulum or Punta Allen if you need to make a quick trip for forgotten supplies. The owners have created a place in paradise, and you know right away it is a passion of theirs as much as a love. Going to Mexico without going to Xamach, is something I can't ever imagine myself doing.

TOTALLY AUTHENTIC! THE OWNER, THE PLACE, THE GUESTS,THE EXPERIENCE

If you like a remote location, rustic facility, great food, and an intimate experience with other guests and staff; Xamach Dos is the right destination. Thanks you Dan for providing a unique atmosphere where Ruth and I completely submersed ourselves in everything you and your place have to offer.

I'll be glad to offer details of our trip to anyone who wants them.

NOW ONLY IF I COULD LIVE THERE....

Xamach Dos is the antidote for all those all-inclusive scars from Cancun to Tulum. First of all, you have to really want to go to. It is not easy to get to. After you get to Tulum, it is a solid hour south of there on a road that can make you cry. This is all irrelevant. The place is truly paradise. Dan and Ron, the properitors, are some of the best people you will ever meet. The place is spotlessly clean, hot water, electricity 24 hours a day, and internet service is all available. You will rarely be around more that 10 or so other guests. They have kayaks, and can arrange day trips for snorkling and/or fishing. Then there is the food, awesome, served family style, and the cook and her family are so sweet and take good care of the place. We love it so much, we plan coming back in May. I hope to see you there. Now if they would only give me a job.

SIMPLY FANTASTIC...MAGICAL AND BEAUTIFUL

It has been over 2 weeks since returning from a week at Xamach Dos and I am still raving about it and can feel its magic. My partner and I spent 6 days and nights at this magical place that is right on the beach and removed from all the typical touristy type resorts. It took me about 2 minutes to relax once we arrived and I stayed that way for the entire holiday.
Xamach Dos is remote and rustic with amenities and charm; everything you need for a relaxing and breathtaking get away. There is much to do and nothing to do. I spent most of my time reading on the beach or relaxing in one of the many hammocks, chatting with the other guests (who were amazing and cool people), taking walks on the uninhabited white sandy beach and swimming in aqua blue ocean. The meals were cooked by Francesca and her daughter Anna and the food was the very best authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten, by far - Simply Fantastic!!
We can't wait to go back again. We are already starting to plan a family holiday for next year and perhaps occupy all 4 cabanas.
If you are tired of the all inclusives and truly want to enjoy Mayan history and hospitality this is the place to go. Walking directly from your cabana in ankle deep white coral sand to the ocean, all of a one minute walk, look to your left and right, no one in sight............. go and enjoy life.

We’re home reoriented after an absolutely wonderful week at Xamach Dos. To say that my husband and I decompressed completely is an understatement. Beautiful place, remote, off-grid (we fit right in there!). I never left the “resort,” choosing to nap, eat, read, snorkel, visit with the other guests (who were all remarkably simpatico with our personalities – how rare!), sample tequila, and just generally do a lotta nothing. My husband fished to his heart’s content, and together with a couple of other guests caught enough snapper for dinner that night. Our most active “activity” was coconut bocce-ball – we all played several spirited tournaments.

As it turned out, both Dan & Ron were there, so we got to know them and the manager Josh - what fun. They keep a great balance of off-grid comfort and beach front exposure. We ate many delicious meals cooked by the wonderful Francesca and her family, laughing and talking with the other guests.

Xamach Dos is a great place.

Dear friends,
It’s already three weeks ago that we left XD. We had the time of our life, thanks to you!  XD is the first place we have been to that really lets you loose track of time. If you love nature, fishing, and meeting nice people XD is the place to be. To see the sunrise every morning from your own veranda, in your own tree house was a spectacular experience. While enjoining a nice tequila on the beach at night, the moon will slowly rice before you. The view is just too amazing to describe in words. The tree house was perfect: a king-size bed with a mosquitoes net, bathroom with bath & shower and a veranda where you can enjoy the view over the Caribbean sea.
Being a fishermen, I had the time of my life. We went fishing on a boat in the Bay of Ascencium. Catching barracudas and snappers in a mangrove environment is very spectacular. Later in that week, we went fishing from the surrounding beaches near XD. I have caught lots of fish and three barracudas that where over one meters long. We took two of them to XD and the lovely Francesca, the culinary wizard, prepared us a nice dinner. We are fish lovers but this fish was really the best we ever had. Our week in XD was so perfect for us, that we will have our wedding there in may 2009!!!There is no better place to have our wedding than at XD.Dan, Margo, Francesca and family, thank you so very much. We are already looking forward to seeing you again soon!!!  Lots of love,

Ewald Karin

We just wanted to send you a note to let you know what a wonderful time we had at your little slice of Paradise known as Xamach Dos. Four of us stayed for four days (not enough) and enjoyed ourselves to no end. You have a fantastic manager in Margo, she is not only a wonderful person, but also very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and the people. The staff you have in place is comparable to none I have ever come across at any resort, small or large. The ladies are probably two of the best cooks whose food we have had the pleasure of eating anywhere in Mexico. Surio(sp?) and his uncle, whom we just referred to as Teo (Spanish for uncle according to Margo), did everything in their power to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Being a fishing nut, I had brought a pole and reel, but had no idea what to do once I got there. They made sure I had plenty of sardines at all times and showed me where to fish. One morning we caught six or seven red snapper and the ladies had them on our plates by lunch. It was wonderful. They made sure anytime the ladies wanted fresh coconut for drinks, they had one ready. If someone asked me to come up with a single complaint about Xamach Dos, I honestly would not be able to. The cabanas were spacious, the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on ANYWHERE, and the washroom and shower facilities were impeccable. Never did we feel like we were intruding and the staff would make sure that we got anything we needed, yet were never overbearing. Once again, thanks so much for allowing us to vacation at Xamach, we enjoyed ourselves to no end and enjoyed the company of your staff even more. We look forward to our return next year (yes we are coming back for sure) and until then, can only count the days&& Tom and Julie Nicholls (Ontario, Canada) Jarrod and Heika Rudd (Michigan, USA)

Four of us(two couples ages 35-43) just returned from 4 days in paradise at a place called Xamach Dos. We had researched our vacation and wanted quiet, rustic yet clean and a meal plan. What we found at Xamach was above and beyond our expectations!!! The staff at Xamach is most accomodating and Margo the manager is one of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The staff that was there for our stay cooked unbeliveable meals from scratch that were better than any meal we had in either Tulum or Akumal.(the other two places we stayed). At a small eco-resort like this that accomodates a maximum of 10 people, you have to come ready to relax. There is not constant activity or entertainment. We came to Mexico to escape all the noise and activity and fell in love with Xamach Dos. The cabanas are roomy enough for 4 adults and each has a nice little porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails. They were cleaned daily and had the most comfortable mattresses we have ever slept on in Mexico. The mosquito netting was clean and we had no problems with bugs. The bathrooms for two of the cabanas are separate from the cabana themselves, but only a short little walk away. They are still private and for your own personal use. We always had hotwater and pressure although I'm sure that at a place as remote and "off the grid" as Xamach, occasionally pressure or heated water may be an issue. Remeber the only sources of electricity are solar and generator, so if the batteries get low, you have to use a generator. We always left our lights and fan off if we were not in the cabana. We had the chance to fish from shore for a fresh seafood lunch and were lucky enough to catch some fish, that the staff delightfully cooked for our lunch. For the fisherman in the group(me) this was a highlight. Xamach Dos is located in a Biosphere National Park and has almost no neighbours to speak of. If you want to wander beaches for hours, pick a direction and walk. You will meet no one in your travels, however you will be dismayed by the amount of garbage along the beach that is brought in by the surf. There was no garbage on our beach(approximately 200 yards long) as it was cleaned daily by the staff. I have seen another report here that claims a picture is one of the beach at Xamach Dos. I can assure you it is not, it is taken about 200 yards north of the edge of the propery. Overall this is a woderful place to relax and recharge your batteries. We came to escape the rigors of daily life and somewhere along the line fell in love. We will return and it won't be a minute too soon!!!!

Hi Dan, We had 5 very, very fine days at Xamach Dos we never will forget ;-) Beautiful quiet place in the middle of the nature - bonito. Fine well-equipped charming condo. Wonderful mexcan family with their lovely daugther. They make miracles in their kitchen. But the best of all, was Margo - that woman makes a true difference. She is fantastic - charming, helpful, humoristic, empathic and most of all, she is her self. Please send her our best regards (the danish family) and tell her, that I have not forgot to send her some pictures. As a matter of fact, I have just recommended Xamach Dos to a couple of my friends. Kind regards, Jørgen Berggreen
